For individuals seeking status in Canada

Let’s find your way to Canada, together.

With 82 ways to come to Canada and rules that keep changing, it’s easy to feel lost. Tell us about yourself in your own words, and we’ll show you which paths could work, what’s missing, and what to do next.

  • Type or talk, whatever’s easier
  • Go at your own pace
  • Checked by a real lawyer
Sound familiar?

Immigration can feel like a maze. It doesn’t have to.

“Where do I even start?”

There are dozens of programs, each with its own rules. We ask the right questions, so you don’t have to know them all.

“What does all this jargon mean?”

CRS, NOC, LMIA, ECA… We explain everything in everyday words, right when it comes up.

“What if I get something wrong?”

You can change any answer, and a lawyer checks your assessment before it ever reaches you.

That’s why we built Global Compass: talking to us should feel like talking to a friend who happens to know Canadian immigration inside out.

How it works

Tell us your story

Type or talk, whichever is easier. We only ask what matters for your goal, explain any tricky words as we go, and you check everything before we use it.

  • Your goals, background, studies, work, languages and family
  • A short note under each question explains why we ask
  • Change any answer, anytime
  • Saved as you go, so you can take a break

Lawyer-led

Not sure yet?

Tell us about yourself and we’ll look at which goals could make sense for you.

Personal assessment

Not covered yet

We’d rather be honest than guess. These aren’t part of our assessments yet:

  • Quebec’s own immigration programs
  • Programs in the three territories
  • Some provincial skilled-worker and graduate programs
  • Employers hiring staff (that’s Global Compass Corporate)

If one of these is you, start anyway. We’ll gather your details and point you to a lawyer who can help.

Your assessment

Your report, in plain words

No legal jargon and no guesswork. Each section answers a simple question, and every finding tells you exactly why.

  • Clear labels like “Looks good” or “Need more info”
  • What you told us, kept apart from what’s been checked
  • Next steps you can actually take
Sample: Amina (made up)

A few skilled-worker paths look worth exploring for you.

Your education, English and seven years of software work could all help. Before anyone can give you a score or a firm view, we need your education assessment, your full language test results and a closer look at your job duties.

Straight talk

Four different questions. We never mix them up.

A lot of confusion comes from treating these as one question. They aren’t.

1

Do you qualify?

Do you meet a program’s basic requirements? We check each one and show you why.

2

How do you rank?

Some programs score and rank people. Qualifying and ranking are different, so we keep them apart.

3

Is there room right now?

Programs open, pause and close. We tell you what we know, with dates, never a made-up forecast.

4

Will it be approved?

Only the government decides that. Anyone who promises you an approval isn’t being straight with you.

Questions

Things people often ask us

Still wondering about something? Start the conversation; there’s a place for your own questions too.

Is this legal advice?

No. Global Compass gives you general information and a preliminary assessment to help you understand your options. If you want legal advice for your situation, you can book a consultation with a qualified professional.

Who checks my assessment?

A lawyer reviews every preliminary assessment, and can correct it, before it’s released to you. Nothing reaches you straight from a computer.

Do I need an account?

No, you can start right away. Your answers are saved on this device as you go. Create a free account if you want to come back from another phone or computer.

What if I make a mistake in my answers?

Just change it. You review everything before you confirm, and if you change an answer later, we prepare a fresh assessment.

How up to date is the information?

Our rules come from official Government of Canada and provincial sources, and every report shows the date they were checked. Rules can change quickly, which is one more reason a lawyer reviews your assessment.

Can you guarantee I’ll get in?

No one honestly can. We’ll tell you what looks promising, what’s missing and what could make your case stronger, but only the government makes the decision.

What happens to my information?

It’s used to prepare your assessment, and it’s shared with a professional only if you ask for a consultation. You can review and change your answers at any time.

Ready when you are.

It starts with one simple question: what brings you to Canada?
